On January 6 the return of last season’s breakout hit drama, MANIFEST, returns with more heart-pounding mystery and answers to some of season one’s biggest questions! When Montego Air Flight 828 landed safely in New York after a turbulent but routine flight, the crew and passengers were relieved. Yet in the span of those few hours, the world had aged five years and their friends, families and colleagues, after mourning their loss, had given up hope and moved on. Now, faced with the impossible, they’re all given a second chance. But as their new realities become clear, a deeper mystery unfolds and some of the returned passengers soon realize they may be meant for something greater than they ever thought possible. As you know, last season we learned that Ben, Cal and Michaela might only have until June 2, 2024 to live. Thanks TVLine, we now know that Ben, for one, “is going to accept the idea of their coming deaths, and he’s going to start making preparations for his death date, for his family that’s going to be left. And that’s going to create a really great emotional richness to the story, but he’s not going to fully accept it. What’s more, by Episode 7 of Season 2 (which launches Jan. 6), “Something very major happens within the mythology… that takes Ben’s way of thinking and shifts it. As for new characters, we know that Yasha Jackson (RAY DONOVAN) and Garrett Wareing (PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: THE PERFECTIONISTS) are set for recurring roles opposite Josh Dallas on the upcoming second season. Jackson will play Suzanne Martin, a Dean at Astoria University and Ben’s (Dallas) ex-girlfriend. They happen to reconnect after running into each other on campus.
Wareing will portray TJ Morrison. Another one of the passengers on Flight 828, TJ Morrison is a college freshman who went to Jamaica for vacation and came back 5 and a half years later. He’s alone in the world and Ben (Dallas) takes him under his wing. In other casting news, Andrene Ward-Hammond (CLAWS) and Ellen Tamaki (CHARMED) are set for recurring roles. Leah Gibson (MARVEL'S JESSICA JONES) and Carl Lundstedt (MARVEL'S CLOAK & DAGGER) are also set for recurring roles. Gibson will play Tamara, the alluring and street smart bartender of an X’er hangout. As for Lundstedt, he will portray Billy, Tamara’s protective and hot-headed brother.
